Dear colleagues and dear members,

Since the beginning of its establishment, the Echocardiographic Association of Serbia (ECHOS) has been involved in education in the field of echocardiography. ECHOS, as a member of the European Association for Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), carries out its activities in accordance with the EACVI guidelines.

Current practice in almost all EACVI European member states, includes several levels of education in accordance with current recommendations. Initially, theoretical education with the possibility of gaining first experience at work with TOE simulators is required. The second level of education is practical work with participants, by type of engagement and departure of the proctor to the center, which starts working with this technique. The last level of education from TOE is the work on interventional cardiology procedures.

ECHOS’ first course in modern 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography includes theoretical teaching and work on simulators in areas that were previously theoretically processed (17 lectures, 6 workshops of 90 minutes each on simulators and a session with case studies from everyday practice (the program is attached)).

The course is held at IN Hotel, Belgrade on December 8th and 9th, 2023.

Domestic and foreign lecturers with many years of experience in this field will participate in the implementation of this course.
